I always bag the window seat on flights, I won't fly otherwise, so you can imagine the maid's shocked face when I offered her the seat, in fact I insisted. I could see her pondering, then she piped up "Is this owt to do with Ryan Giggs being on our flight?" She can be sharp as a tack at times, no fish placed under her nose can lie about it's age. A few minutes later Ryan boards and walks past, my heart sank, oh well there was always that chance he could have been given the seat next to us. Carmen once had Stu Francis sitting next to her on a 9 hour flight to Barbados, that was a few years ago. Back to the present, the maid and I changed seats and moments later a big boned lass with a Titian hairdo and grey roots plonked herself down in the end seat and she was the chatty type.
I played music and didn't speak a single word until we landed. |

I've just nipped to Aldi because I've just returned home from holiday and "There's nowt in house" as my maid of all work remarked. Returning the supermarket trolley back to its bay, my eagle eye spotted something inside the trolley in front, lying there abandoned by a careless shopper was a slab of Fruit and Nut, ta very much I'll have that, I only had one piece (look at all that red!) I gave the rest to the maid who remarked 'it tastes much nicer than that Cadbury's muck.' I couldn't agree more. It's not the first time I've retrieved items left inside abandoned trolleys, I found a pack of curtains from Dunelm once, there hung up in the back bedroom, not really my taste, they are green with trees on them, but beggars can't be choosers.
