Carry on Cruising

Another boring day at sea with nothing to do.

Stop the boat I want to get off! Yes, that's Benidorm you see in the distance, most ot it anyway, I was too excited to wait for the full vista. I'm enjoying the cruise but I'd be much happier if they dropped me off here for a couple of weeks.

My first taste of Tia Maria I wasnt sure what mixer you had with it, if any, so I drank it neat with ice. Yes that is a lager the maid is drinking "Reg Varney had one of those in Holiday on the Buses".

This is how the folk of Cartagena like to entertain themselves.

More carry on cruising to come.

  1. I shudder at the thought of a cruise - being trapped with all those people and nowhere to hide... Jx

    1. I like cruising but I'm not very patient trailing behind old dodderers and finding a table at breakfast time is a task, they are nearly all occupied with people nursing cups of teas, chatting and playing cards. I prefer land holidays, less stressful.

  2. I'm with jon, a cruise seems like something you would be sentenced to rather than something you would pay for.

    1. Days at sea especially, I must be a masochist, my maid of all work showed me a few grindr profiles on her phone, of crew members all wanting to serve a gentleman for extra gratuities! Whores at sea basically!

  3. FIRST TASTE OF TIA MARIA?????? What, ever???? Mix it with vodka and coke. Put it in milk and dunk digestive biscuits in it. Or, add it to coffee in the morning. It goes with most things. Even drizzled over coffee ice cream would be nice. Perhaps I should write an informative pamphlet called: Tia Maria - an underused pantry essential.
I've been on a cruise, I thought it was tremendous fun, especially dressing for dinner every night, and then playing Bingo.
    Have a great time!

    1. Dressing up for dinner every night, how genteel, was it a Cunnard ship? Tia Maria tasted a lot nicer than I expected. Thank you for the recommendation I will try it with coke. How about in some Baileys? I'm turning into a lush.

    2. P&O - The Canberra- mid 90s. I just wanted to wear my frocks and be swish for a fortnight.
Put some vodka with the Tia Maria then add coke to taste, or ask for a Black Russian. Tell the barman that Scarlet sent you and he’ll sort you out.

    3. I think it's formal night tonight, I'll take a few pics for your viewing pleasure. I don't get dressed up.

    4. I'm eagerly looking forward to your informative pamphlet, Ms Scarlet. Like Mitzi, I too have never tried Tia Maria (at least, not that I can remember).

  4. Holiday on the Buses... isn't that the one where Olive loses her glasses and ends up in bed with a stranger? Of course, we've all had that happen.

  5. That's the one. It happens to the best of us.
    "Arthur... I can't find it!"
