Spring has well and truly arrived, the sap has risen and with it came the realisation that I have been leaving the house in far too many layers of clothes.
Sadly I missed out on MJ's knitting blog, we were taught to knit in primary school boys and girls, I had no patience for it, my hoops were always too tight.
Can't remember the nonsense we were taught at school. My grandfather showed me how to repair a sock. He said that it's important to be able to help oneself, and to stay as independent as possible. He was right.
Where on earth did you find that photo of Mistress MJ??!! Jx
ReplyDeleteI don't know Jon, I can't put my finger on it.

Ask MJ to knit you one.
DeleteDo you think her granny crocheted that for her?
ReplyDeleteYes, her Eastern European one with the big hairy gash.
DeleteAh yes, the knitting blog days.

DeleteMy Grandma had a device, shaped like a mushroom, for dining socks.
DeleteShe kept it in the drawer of her bedside table *purses lips*
DeleteI couldn't make out what the picture was of on my Sideboard as it's a bit small, so I clicked to have a look. I am both unsurprised and horrified.
ReplyDelete* wonders if there's a version that will contain a couple of spiderplants and a begonia while dangling over the kitchen windowsill *
I was equally horrified when I received an email with the title something for your holiday, this from a good stout Christian woman.
