Forget Santa, sprouts and carol singers nothing truly says 'Christmas is here' like the sight of people in peril. Lifeboat Rescue by Robert Jobling (1841-1923) |

Card
It's been misty, murky, damp and drizzly here today, but I was cheered up by the sight of a Christmas card hanging out of my bristled slot this morning. Could it be a cheery father Christmas with his ruddy face, perhaps an olden day ice skater clutching her muff or a little Robin redbreast perched on a branch of holly, oh the excitement as I fumbled with the envelope. Imagine my disappointment when I opened it and was greeted by this scene so early in the morning. It was from Renata the old lass who lives opposite, wishing me a happy Christmas. I thought she liked me.

Not very Christmassy. You could always tuck it away and then dash around looking for it when Renata shows up unexpectedly.
ReplyDeleteI might make it Christmassy by sprinkling a bit of glitter on the sea perhaps a father Christmas in the distance not waving but drowning.
DeleteHow odd.Perhaps it's a sly way of getting donations to the RNLA? Nah...those brave lads don't do sly.
ReplyDeleteShe holds coffee mornings in aid of the RNLA which I am very suspicious about because in the afternoon on the same day, she has groceries delivered by Waitrose.
DeleteMaybe Renata was thinking of a Nantucket Sleighride?
ReplyDeleteI bet that was thrilling for the kiddies.
DeleteThere was a young man from Nantucket
Whose dick was so long he could suck it.
He said with a grin
As he wiped off his chin,
"If my ear was a cunt I could fuck it."
They say it's that thought that counts Mitzi... But I'm a little concerned about just what those thoughts were...
ReplyDelete*shivers* It's a proper Christmas card too with a festive message printed inside.
DeleteLook at all the cheerier options she could have selected from this organization.
ReplyDeleteI've just checked the back of the card, it is from the RNLI. I've been scouring the internet looking to see how much she had paid for them, but with no joy, I bet she's had them for years festering in a cupboard. They have some nice cards at the RNLI I quite like Holly and Ivy.
DeleteIn truth the windy stormy floody drowning image is actually more typical of a British Christmas than the snowy glittery version. Renata seems to be a realist.
