      I had a pair of those shoes, I loved them, they were like my second feet. I lent them to Carmen and the heels snapped under her enormous weight.

    Thank God it was her legs! It'd been a shame if it were her rack.

      I wasn't sure what a rack was so I made an enquiry and came up with this

      "By means of pulleys and levers this roller could be rotated on its own axis, thus straining the ropes until the sufferer's joints were dislocated and eventually separated"
