Deva Victrix

Deva Victrix the roman name for Chester will be my new home at the end of the month. The south coast will just have to wait. With it's close proximity to Wales, it means I could take the dog for a walk and end up in another country.  It'll be like living in a portal. How mad is that!

  1. Oooh! Dead posh, you... Jx

PS Mind you, that's where Hollyoaks is from, so maybe not.

    1. I've been teaching myself posh by watching Tom Read Wilson on YouTube and copying him parrot fashion, my maid of all work said I sound like a proper dickhead (she's from Hull). I'm proud to say that I have never seen an episode of Hollyoaks in my life and I don't plan to start now.

  2. Congratulations on exchanging!!! I loved Chester when I visited! How come you switched your house search to there? Are you all packed up?
And, when are you getting the dog??? Exciting!

    1. Thank you Scarlet, it was a struggle to find a property I liked in Weymouth, my main focus was in the South but it wasn't set in stone. Many years ago, the maid and I had a coach trip to Llandudno and en route we had some free time in Chester and we also loved the place, we are slowly making our way down south, I fancy Sidmouth in my dotage, if I'm spared. The house is upside down, cardboard boxes every where, it's like living in a shanty town. The dog is still in its planning stage I want a bull terrier called Big Brenda or a wire haired fox terrier called Henry, I think the latter is more suitable for Chester.

  3. I misread Deva Victrix as Doma Natrix.

    1. That entered my mind when I read about it. I might open up "shop" you can come over and keep the girls in check, there're a few scrubbers in the above photograph that could do with some strict dicipline.

      Diva Victoria!

  4. There aren't many young people in that photo, Mitzi. Still, when you move there, you'll bring the average age down considerably.
    Congratulations, Mitzi!

P.S. I've just read that Russ Abbot was born in Chester.

    1. It's nice of you to say so, I had a dose of reality today, I was in Aldi buying a bottle of Jammy, I went to the serve yourself till, scanned the age restricted item and stood there waiting for the menial to stop gossiping and come over and sort me out, when she eventually tore herself away I asked her if she wanted to see some ID she laughed and told me it wasn't necessary, the fucking bitch.

Is Russ Abbot still alive? I didn't like him in Last of the Summer Wine and I will tell him so if our paths crossed.

  5. It looks so half-timbered. Will you have to wear period dress?

    Maybe don't answer that.

  6. Sack cloth and ashes perhaps a poke bonnet. I'll have a nosy through Carmen's wardrobe to see what I can find.
