Puerto De La Cruz - Tenerife

Anne Hegerty?
Jane and Lance Hattatt?
Knock knees and fancy free. It's true, vertical stripes do make you look thinner.
Free ride to Loro Parque. Photo taken on board the yellow land train.

Nothing much changes in Puerto De La Cruz it is still 1978. Previous Tenerife post  here

  1. Nice pix! Did Carmen have any "luck" on the beach?

    1. She didn't step foot on it. I showed willing and went for a paddle.

  2. I wonder what happened to Jane and Lance?
Meanwhile, I'm admiring the ashtrays on the cafe tables. In 1978 everyone smoked!

    1. They're probably still there, in Puerto De La Cruz, riding on the yellow train, when it drives over the cobblestones it gives you a thrill like no other. It was the red check tablecloths and wicker chairs that attracted me.

    2. Darlings,

      Yellow train.....fine. Just about.

      Hat....definitely not.

      Glasses on head....oh dear no.

Tenerife.... volcanos, black sand, dysfunctional families and British pubs....yes please!!! How could we resist.

    3. I knew it couldn't really be you, because when the diesel engine stopped and I was able to hear again I distinctly heard the sound of the Bow Bells coming from their direction.

  3. The sea is so blue in the fifth picture, Beautiful, if a bit rough. Not really conducive to swimming unless one wishes to get smushed to smithereens on those jagged rocks? It looks much better in the last photo, but aside from yourself, was there anyone under the age of 38 on the grey beach?
I don't know if I'd like a grey beach. I'd be concerned about blending in...

  4. Oh! Those stripey trews! If the Inexplicable One had a pair of those he wouldn't "blend in"!

  5. Just behind the lido in the 5th picture is another beach, popular with young surf boarders and families with screaming children. The last photo was taken facing the volcano which seems to attract a lot of clouds during the day making the beach look dismal which reminded me of home, behind me though was a beautiful blue sky, very strange place. You have to be careful when scrambling amongst the rocks as the crabs are black too.

    1. I wouldn't like her nerve in my tooth. Look how they form a V at the top *purses lips* no pun intended. Look at the two men in the foreground ogling them. Delilahs!

  6. It looks very much like a set for Little Britain. I am glad you had a good time.

    1. Not Little Britain whilst perusing the aisle of the Ale-hop shop I came into contact with Vicki Michelle from Allo Allo 'Ooooh Rene' I rasped in my best sexy Yvette Carte-Blanche voice she looked at me in a bemused way and then muttered something in German, it wasn't her. Oh well. Puerto De La Cruz is a nice place to visit but I had forgotten how boring it is there.
