Timeless Masterpiece

I was invited to a friend's house for tea last night, whilst he was busy in the kitchen preparing the McCain oven chips and super noodles, I took the opportunity to look around the living quarters, dragging a forefinger along a table, testing for dust, like One does, I came across a sight that made me gasp and it wasn't the copious amount of grey dust covering my finger, It was this.

Crafted in a heritage style gold effect material and powered by a single AA battery, it whimsically captures in enchanting details, the seven wonders of the world (well, at least two), "But Mitzi dear, I can only count six wonders captured in finest quality polymer" I hear you say. Stand back and see the thing as a whole and you'll see the seventh wonder. I'm sure you'll agree it's almost certainly the single most beautiful piece of art created since the High Renaissance.

For pudding we had Jam roly-poly (Aunt Bessie's) with custard (Ambrosia), I've never eaten so much stodge in all my life.

  1. Darling Mitzi,

Is it the clock....or is it us....but is the whole thing leaning like the Titanic?

We tried hard to uncover the six or seven wonders but could not find Colossus of Rhodes....or is that the reflection of you, darling M that makes number seven?

Your supper sounds like an artery hardening experience.....take care, darling M, you are not as young as you were!

    1. Don't I know it, I was up half the night with indigestion and I was sweating like a processed cheese sandwich wrapped in cling film. No it is not you dear Hattatts, it was taken in a hurry using a mobile phone.

  3. I've been staring at this thing for ten minutes. I do see an eye in reflection, but on the whole nothing stands out. Maybe a face...sort of.

    1. The eye of Sauron? It's best not to look at it for too long in case the image gets burnt onto your retinas. On closer inspection I see a Venetian bridge and the Spanish Steps of Rome and an angel playing a saxophone. Perhaps it's not meant to be the seven wonders after all but the creation of a very disturbed mind.

    2. I think the clock itself is one of the Wonders of the World.

    3. You can buy one or something very similar on Amazon, I did toy with the idea of buying one for my maid of all work as a birthday present, but I think she would prefer a box of teabags.

  5. I'm not sure what would cause my bowels to evacuate faster: the sight of that clock, or the disgusting meal you were offered.

    1. No protein, no salad, not even a whiff of a parsley garnish. I felt heavy with mud child soon after eating that muck, every step I took thereafter felt like a trudge, though I did enjoy the pudding.

That's not the first time I have sampled 'council house' fare Fanny, oh no, I was once invited to dinner and was served pasta with mushroom soup baked in the oven with bubbling cheese on top it was delicious and the pudding was instant whip with a Cadbury's flake stuck in it.
