Desperately Seeking Camay

Camay Classic Toilet Soap has been discontinued. My Great Aunt Jemima is most upset about this, she has just used her very last bar of Camay and has threatened to stop washing herself as a protest until Camay is back on the shelves. It is a worry.

    1. $58.99 for a case of 48, she's in her 90s, she takes soap out of its wrapper and exposes it to the air for a few months before using it, she says it extends the life of the soap, she can get 6 months out of a single bar, the mean old cow. She'll be 116 by the time she's ready for the next case. No she'll have to make do with Imperial Leather instead and if she refuses to wash then she can make her own way to Morrisons in future.

  2. Blimey! That was my gran's idea of luxury was that. She'd wash her face with Camay, slather it with Ponds and then put her teeth in a glass before bed. Crystal cut mind you. The glass. Not the teeth.x

    1. I once helped my gran bake an apple and blackberry pie for her over sixties club, after trimming away the pastry with a knife, she then took her teeth out and crimped the pastry.

  3. Goodness! I trust she doesn't look a day over 35 after using all of that rich luxurious emollient Camay. I imagine she is scared, much like Dorian Gray.

    1. I've often wondered what that hideous painting she keeps in the loft is all about, now I know.
