Zager And Evans In The Year 2525

I bring you Zager and Evans. The world's greatest visionaries.

  1. God, I bloody love this song!
I predict that in 2525 Jeremy Clarkson will successfully merge with Hammond and May and a Ford Ka which the Stig will drive off a cliff.

    1. Followed by Jeremy Kyle and Jeremy Paxman in a Citroen Diane. Are all people called Jeremy smug and obnoxious? There was a lad in our class at school called Jeremy and he was a bit of a tit.

    2. Yup...the Jeremy I knew was a wanker who brought a briefcase to school. He was called 'Jermy' and beaten up quite a bit. Though not by me. Much.

  2. Thanks for posting that, Mitzi. I haven't heard that song since I was 7 or 8 years old and hearing it today had me tapping my feet and waltzing round the hall. It's timeless.. the old songs are the best, aren't they!

In the Year 9595, I'm wondering if politicians will be less corrupt, and whether White Dee will have finally got off her immensely fat backside and got a job?

    1. It brings back memories for me too. This used to be on my mother's Saturday morning housework tape, that she compiled herself with an odd mixture of songs from the 50's 60's 70's and 80s and not in any particular order. I can still remember the song that came next on the tape Mississippi by Pussycat. I never thought I'd hear myself saying it, but yes, the oldies were the best.

  3. I'm just trying to make it to 2025 at this point. Perhaps popular music will rally around and have made come back by then. Does that mix tape still exist? Can I borrow it?

    1. Sadly not Ayem8y, my mother had a car boot sale several years ago and flogged everything, her old vinyl LPs, her old cassette tapes, her collection of horse brasses, some green velvet curtains, books, jigsaws and tat in general.

  4. That song reminds me of my childhood too (my big sister had the single). I'm rather partial to Mississippi too... No taste, that's my trouble. xxx

    1. Long live bad taste! Join the club, my sister and I clubbed together to buy my mother one ofthese for her 40th birthday, she cried when we presented it to her, cried laughing! It ended up at a car boot sale along with the Mississippi tape, I think she got £3.50 for it I'll have to ask her.

  5. This post was in my reader last week, but then was not there. Now it's back again! Did it time travel to 2525 to visit Zager And Evans? [worries]

PS: Clarkson over a cliff is always a good idea.

  6. It gave me a stir when I scrolled down and saw this message in place of the Zager and Evans video:

Sorry, something went wrong. A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation, if you see them, show them this information

With a HTML code a hundred lines long.

I went to edit and the video was still there, so I republished it, so back to normal. I hope it didn't cause you too much distress as it did me, I thought I'd been pillaged, apparently it's a problem with Youtube and others have experienced the same thing happening to them.
