Wicker Baskets

Call me old fashioned, but I would like to see the return of the traditional wicker shopping basket on the high street, you rarely see them nowadays. Attractive and durable they can last you a lifetime and they don't topple over in the boot of the car.

Back from ye olde butcher shoppe I picked up some country fayre

  2. My city recently banned plastic bags in the shops, so your helpful hint is very timely!

    1. I give a rousing applause to your city for making a move. Plastic bags are so last century and they are a menace to our planet along with the plastic that holds drink cans together. They get entangled in the intestines of seagulls and dolphins are often getting their heads stuck in them. Wicker basket are not only good for the environment they're also great for pushing other people out of the way during the January sales.

  3. I do love a nice wicker basket to carry my ..or someone else's ...bits around in. Plastic bags are the work of Satan. They make everything slimy and sweaty.xx

    1. They are indeed Ivy. I quite like those tarpaulin tartan zip up bags popular with market stall traders.

  4. Didn't Granny tell you not to put all your eggs in the one basket Mitzi?...

We have had a ban on plastic shopping bags here for about 6 years now. Some of the shops still stock them and will charge you a 5 cent fee per bag. I refuse to pay for a shitty plastic thing... I take my own calico bags now. They are great for knocking folk out of the way... especially when they ae full of cans!

  5. Yes she did Princess, she also taught me how to bottle plums. They charge 5p a bag at M&S. I've bought items from there before at the food hall and forgot to bring my own bag and had to pay the 5p, I made sure I turned the bag inside out, I'm not paying for their advertising. Dirty rob dogs.
