Flight Clapping

Why do some people feel the need to clap just after the plane has landed? I used to think it was a northern custom, first time flyers from Leeds getting over excited about their forthcoming holiday to Salou, oh yes and Thomson air passengers. These days they let ALL passengers off their planes, thus eliminating the need to clamber to the front the second the aircraft lands.

  1. I clap if I endure a flight without being sneezed upon. Sorry.

  2. "Eee that's grand" as they say in Yorkshire. I'd like to fly Alan Bennett class, I could have my hair done, have pie and mushy peas and have a good old natter, ohhhh luxury! I remember a time when we ate chips off newspapers and nobody thought anything of it, though, my parents never allowed me to eat chips in the street (common) though I did at school dinner time, sadly the custom of eating fish and chips off newspapers is not allowed anymore. Thanks for the link MJ, I enjoyed watching that.
