Sir Patrick Moore Dies

Sunday, Dec 09 2012 will go down in the annals of history as the saddest day there has ever been since the passing of our Queen of Hearts Princess Diana. Astronomer, keen xylophone player and heart throb, Sir Patrick Moore dies aged 89.

    1. Perhaps he dabbed some jam onto his chin and invited his trouser to tea.

  2. Didn't he play James Bond in a couple of those 007 films?

    1. You're thinking of Roger Moore or Blofeld. Blofeld and Patrick both wore monocles and shared a love for pussy Patrick Moore is the presenter of The Sky At Night Britain's oldest television programme it's been going since the 1950s.

    2. In the link I think he's wearing the same tie. I do love eccentrics.

  4. And do you remember Magnus Pike? He was another eccentric I would have liked to have had as an uncle.

  5. Magnus Pike the mad scientist with the wild flailing arms. No, I don't remember him. How old do you think I am? About 18 years ago I once shared a table in a first class train carriage going to London with that man off the telly, the one with the clipboard, I forget his name Dennis sommatorother.

    2. Of course, thank you ladies. Dennis Norden the presenter who managed to bumble his way through years of It'll Be Alright On The Night. I paid a quick visit to Wikipedia and he's still alive!

  6. So sorry for your loss.

We had an equally unattractive but decidedly lovable Star Hustler here in the states named Jack Horkheimer who passed away recently. I still try to whistle the theme song.

    1. Thank you Ayem8y *sniff sniff*. Jack and Paddy would have been marvelous together in an episode of Dr. Who.

  7. I always quite liked Sir Patrick. A demon on the xylophone I seen to remember. I wonder if Brian Cox will end up with his trousers around his nipples?

    1. I haven't warmed to Brian Cox, he looks odd. Perhaps if he wore a wearing a monocle and a pair of Oxfords Bags I'll feel differently about him.
