  2. I got the Brawn (jellied pig's head)! But inexplicably, it also calls for trotters and a tail. Surely, that's not right?

  6. Reminds me of the grab bag booth at the church fair. I grabbed the recipe for fuschia jam.

  8. I do like a mince down memory lane Ayem8y.

A variant on the original recipe, popular with the older generation, they couldn't get enough of it during the war.

The sari looks exquisite Scarlet, you could wear it to MJ's Party with a pig's head on top of your head. Might upset the muslims though.

Not at all MJ, I have been known to suffer from this ailment myself, usually after having a few scoops too many. I've even took a vase to bed with me once to save going back and forth to the toilet.

Apparently fuschia jam tastes a bit like sour grapes. A recipe from the war era when food was scarce and they had to make do.

Marti Webb is a musical theatre actress who had a hit with that song by Andrew Lloyd Webber, collaborating with lyricist Don Black. Taken from the musical Tell Me On A Sunday.
